Avondale School is a large Primary School that operates its own budget. The present number of pupils on roll is 398.

The School is very well equipped, the large assembly hall being fitted with a stage and stage lighting; a fully equipped gymnasium and changing rooms; library and self-managed kitchen where school meals are cooked on the premises. A large surfaced playing area including two netball courts and rounders diamond, lies adjacent to the School. Two football pitches are on the School's playing field some 50 yards away. In recent years a new Reception classroom and a computer suite have been added to the School's facilities.
