The children in 4B have had a very active morning with a netball coach. They have learnt some new footwork and have been chanting the rhyme '1, 2 STICK LIKE GLUE' to help them to remember the steps. They have also learnt the new word 'pivot' and have been practising how to do it. They all made great progress throughout the lesson. Take a look at some pictures of them in action. #PE #4B #Year4
Year 4 started off their day by reading a book 'Have you filled a bucket today?'. It talks about how everybody has an invisible bucket that people can fill by being kind, caring, loving, giving compliments and generally being nice and positive. It explains that being a 'bucket filler' makes you and others feel good. If you are a bucket dipper you do the opposite which we don't want! We have all been bucket fillers this morning and hope to continue to be bucket fillers. At Avo
In Science, we are learning all about states of matter and we have been classifying solids, liquids and gases. We have experimented with cornflour slime and we have also tested to find out if all liquids are the same. #Science #Experiments #Year4 #4B
4B have spent the morning without electricity. They have been writing and doing maths by candlelight and have realised how much we normally use electricity in the classroom and at home. Our classroom certainly smells nice and feels cosy though. #4B #Year4 #Science #Maths #Writing
This week has been 'Childen's Mental Health Awareness Week'. 4B listened to a story that taught them that the most important thing to do when you are worried is to talk to someone. You are NEVER alone and people care. We had a brilliant discussion about this and the children made some fantastic contributions to our conversations. #4B #PSHE
After 4B's "Now Press Play" experience, they used the story they listened to and their super Computing skills to create power points all about Anglo Saxon villages. They were very impressive! #4B #History #Writing .
On Wednesday afternoons, we are very lucky to have an Art teacher from Darwen Vale come in to teach us. Take a look at some of our Art work so far that links with our class novel 'The Iron Man'. #4B #Art #Year4 #Reading
Today, we have started our new class novel 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. We have learnt a part of the first chapter using a story map. This section focuses on descriptive language and the children performed it brilliantly using actions. After that, we used the creative language to inspire us to make our own Iron Men from recyclable materials. This has definitely hooked us on our book! Take
