    Foodbank Visit

The School Council visited the Foodbank in Blackburn to see what happened to our Harvest donations. The children were fantastic ambassadors for the school as we were shown around the center and told how it operates. Thank you again for your wonderful Harvest donation. It really has made a difference to local people. #SchoolCouncil #Community #PSHCE

Year 4 have now linked with Newfield School and over the year, we will regularly be visiting each other. This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to integrate with a diverse range of people and to see how their amazing school works. The children have had a brilliant afternoon, created some great shadow puppets and we are super proud of how they represented our school too. We look forward to meeting new people and sharing lovely experiences with them over the school ye

    Mental Health Day

This morning, in 4B, we read a book called 'Scrambled Heads'. We discussed how we feel today, what mental health is and how we can help ourselves or others if our thoughts and feelings are negative. This afternoon, we also took part in a LIVE lesson with BBC which discussed all about growth mindset and mental well-being. We took part in activities and had an afternoon of mindfulness. We hope to see these fabulous, smiling faces as much as possible. TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER! :

    School Council Presentations

In 4B, three children have done a fantastic job at presenting why they should be School Councillors. 4B described their presentations as: Great because they said what they would improve about the school. Amazing because they all did their best. Surprised but in a good way because they all did REALLY well! We loved how the presentations were all different. We are proud of them all. The votes will be counted and the results will be announced in assembly tomorrow. #English #PSHC

    Coeliac Disease

In 2MN we have been learning all about Coeliac Disease. Gracie is now a 'Young Champion' for Coeliac UK. This means that she received a pack of information and activities to share with her friends and teachers. Through raising awareness of this condition, Gracie has now shared with us brilliantly what life is like on a gluten free diet. Thank you Gracie! #PSHCE #Year2

    Racism, Bullying & Prejudice

5C and 5W are spending time at the moment learning all about racism, bullying and prejudice. We have been lucky to have Ilyas Patel from BRFC coming in to discuss issues linked to the above themes. We will soon be creating posters about what we have learnt and the Blackburn Rovers players will be judging the overall winner. The winner will then have their efforts signed by some of the players and then displayed on the Blackburn Rovers social media pages. #Year5 #PSHCE
