    Top of the League!

Our Year 5/6 football team played two more fixtures at the Soccerdome and won convincingly in both games with a 9-0 win followed by a 10-1 win. Everyone played superb and there were some unbelievable goals and team passing. It was almost impossible to pick a man of the match, however the boys all nominated Numan. This means we have now won six out of six games and are joint top of the league. Well played boys! #Sports

    Blackburn Rovers Match

School was extremely fortunate this week to be given the opportunity to take a group of children to Ewood Park on Wednesday evening to see the Blackburn Rovers match against Sheffield. Although Rovers lost the match, our children had a great evening – spending time in the Strikers’ Lounge before the match and then waving flags on the match as the players came on the field. Thanks to Mr Clegg, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Mears for accompanying the children. #Sports

Last night the Y5/6 footballers were excited to take part in their first training session. The children focused on improving their dribbling skills within a small space. It was great to see the enthusiasm as the turnout was very good. All the children are looking forward to their next session. #Year5 #Year6 #Sports

    Football Tournament Success

Some Year 5/6's took part in a football tournament on Tuesday. We remained unbeaten in 6 games as we drew our first 3 games and then won our last 3 games. There were some great goals by Luca, Harry, Lewis and Alfie as well as some excellent defending. All of the boys played brilliantly and were role models for our school. Well done! #Sports #Year5 #Year6

    National Writing Champ!

Exciting news... About two months ago, Levi submitted a 200 word Biography about his favourite football player Eden Hazard in a competition that was run by Panini. We were then informed that Levi had won the regional prize for the North of England - winning a £50 voucher to spend on sports equipment, a World Cup sticker album and a certificate. His winning entry was then entered into the national round of the competition and last Friday we were blown away to find out that Lev

    Tag Rugby

Last week a mixed team of Year 5/6 boys and girls took part in a tag rugby festival at Blackburn Rugby Club. For many it was their first time playing, however you wouldn't have thought so going off the superb skill that they demonstrated. We got off to a flyer as we won our first three games, and then faced stiffer competition as we drew our next but then narrowly got beat in the final two games. All pupils were brilliant and had a fantastic time. #Sports #Year5 #Year6

Our school Change 4 Life Champions from 5C have been very busy this week putting on another fitness session at lunch time for some lucky pupils who showed an interest in improving their fitness levels. They did an engaging warm-up, led a starter game and then carried out the main activity. Well done to Levi and Kaitlyn for doing this. They are also popping into classrooms before lunch to remind pupils to choose to eat something healthy. #Year5 #Sports
