RST Weekly Catch Up!
This week we continued to retell our story - We’re Going on a Treasure Hunt using words and actions. We talked about the main parts of a book - front cover, author, illustrator and we looked at lots of front covers to see if we could predict what the story was about. We developed our own story telling skills and generate alternative titles for a story, and we used our “Story Telling Feet” to talk around the story.
During our daily phonics sessions, we continued to listen for words that rhyme and enjoyed listening for the rhyming words in the story Oi Cat! We also started to practise our oral blending skills ready for reading.
In Maths, we looked at the Numicon shapes and continued our work on same and different. We are getting really good at “Spot the Difference”.
This week we have been thinking a lot about what makes us happy and sad. We enjoyed looking at different pictures and discussing how the children were feeling and why?
In Write Dance this week, we have been practising the Volcano Dance and getting our muscles ready for writing. We created our own volcano pictures – have a look at some of our pictures.
Well done everyone and have a lovely weekend! See you all on Monday.
