UNIFORM

As a school we believe unity is important, school uniform helps us all to identify as a member of the Avondale family. It also helps us to look really smart.

The school uniform colours are red, white and grey.

Avondale embroidered sweatshirts and polo shirts can be obtained from Gray's, Blackburn Grays Schoolwear Official: Instagram, X, Facebook | Linktree and from Lancashire PE Services, Darwen LPES | Official JOMA Distributor

However, parents may opt to make their own arrangements to purchase plain uniform. If purchasing plain colours then the shades are white, bright red and light grey.

In addition, all classes undertake Art. It is asked that pupils are provided with an old shirt etc. which can be worn over their clothing. Overalls are not provided on a class basis (except EYFS) and damage to clothing unfortunately cannot be reimbursed by the School.

The Uniform for both Infant and Junior children is as follows:

Girls: White polo shirt/T-shirt

Bright red sweatshirt/sweater/cardigan

Light grey skirt/pinafore (knee length) or grey/black trousers/shorts

White socks

Black shoes (maximum heel height of 1")

Alternative for summer is a red and white check dress

Boys: White polo shirt/T-shirt

Bright red sweatshirt/sweater

Light grey trousers (long/short)

Grey socks

Black shoes

SPECIAL CLOTHING

Parents are informed at the beginning of the School year the times of gym, sport, forest school, swimming etc. when special clothing is required at school for their children in each particular class. Parents are also asked to ensure that their children have the correct clothing in school on the specified days.

In addition, all classes undertake Art. It is ESSENTIAL that pupils are provided with an old shirt etc. which can be worn over their clothing. Overalls are not provided on a class basis and damage to clothing unfortunately cannot be reimbursed by the School.

School Uniform Policy

P.E. KIT

A timetable for PE is shared at the start of each half term so parents are aware of class PE days. Children are asked to come into school in their PE kit on PE days so that the children can make the most of their timetabled PE time.

The PE kits includes: A plain white t-shirt, plain black shorts/leggings/joggers, the school jumper/cardigan or the school PE 1/4 zip top, pumps or trainers.

ALL CLOTHING MUST BE CLEARLY NAMED.

At school we regularly have a committed eco-club who regularly put on a used uniform sale, usually half termly. If you have any good quality uniform that can be reused please feel free to donate to school for others to use. Please look out for further information in the weekly newsletter.

Avondale Primary School Bags

‘The Avondale branded book bags come in two styles: The ‘Book Bag’ which is more compact and would be a good option for EYFS/KS1 students, or the expandable ‘Document Case’ which allows students to hold more paperwork or books; this ‘satchel-style bag would be better suited to KS2 students as they progress through the school. Both style of bags are available from our uniform stockists Grays and LPES however, the bag doesn't needed to be branded as long as the book bag/satchel style in bright red is used.
