We believe that Avondale School is special. Our school is a busy, happy place with hardworking staff who use a variety of teaching methods to ensure learning is fun.  The positive relationships we develop with our children and their families enables us to create a friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere. It is our belief that children need to be happy and motivated if they are likely to achieve their very best in the classroom. We place great emphasis upon the well-being and personal development of every child.  Truly caring for each and every child here at Avondale and we want them to be happy individuals as well as achieve their very best in all they do at school and in the wider community. 

We aim to nurture children’s wellbeing, motivation and confidence across school in our daily lessons, but also through other opportunities such as music, performing arts and competitive sporting activities. Behaviour is a strength of our school and is crucial in maintaining the positive and caring ethos we have.

Although we strive for excellent academic results, we are well aware that academic ability is not the be-all-and-end-all. Children have many different interests, skills and abilities and huge potential, and we work hard to make the education we offer as broad as possible to meet this range. It would be our aim that children leave Avondale with the highest results possible for them but also as independent, resilient leaners with self-belief and abiding respect for others.

We are constantly seeking to improve the provision we give. In education, as with all elements of life, things change, and we constantly face new challenges, both in terms of developments in education and expectations of the children and parents.
