We loved celebrating WBD  and you may have noticed your child coming home talking about our new Avondale Reading Mascot 'Daley Dog.'

Daley arrived in school wanting to spread the importance of 'daily' reading (do you see what we did there?). His presence was announced in our whole school assembly and he then made guest appearances to each class bringing round our book tokens. Each class spent some time developing ideas for including him in their classrooms and older children have looked at ways to use him to encourage our early readers to get reading. Look out for more of Daley in the future!
