Bringing Stories to Life: Year 2 Create Digital Animations!

This week in Computing, our Year 2 children have been exploring the exciting world of digital animation! Using simple animation software, they learned how to bring their ideas and stories to life, one frame at a time.

The children began by designing their own characters and backgrounds, then experimented with making small changes between each frame to create the illusion of movement. They were amazed to see their drawings come alive on screen — whether it was a rocket blasting off, a poppy growing, or a ball bouncing across the page.

Through this project, pupils developed key computing skills such as sequencing, creativity, and problem-solving. They also learned about perseverance, as creating smooth animation takes patience and careful planning!

It was wonderful to see the excitement and pride on their faces as they watched their finished animations. We can’t wait to share their fantastic work with families and friends soon!
