A huge well done to our 2P Spelling stars. They have consistently scored highly in their spelling tests this half term. Special mention to Mojola, Oliver and Oliver who have scored 10/10 on every Spelling test so far.

2P have had a great day. All the children look fantastic in their Christmas jumpers and are ready for Christmas dinner and party games this afternoon. Happy Christmas to all of our family and friends from Mrs Pickup, Mrs Gullick and 2P.

Following on from our work with animations in Year 2, Oliver from Class 2P drew a Santa picture which we upload to an online platform and using AI made the picture move.

In today’s computing lesson, we brought history to life by animating The Great Fire of London . The children created animations showing how the fire started in a bakery and spread through the city. It was a fun way to combine computing skills like sequencing and storytelling with learning about history. Seeing their animations unfold helped everyone understand the speed and impact of the fire—making history both visual and memorable!

This week in Computing, our Year 2 children have been exploring the exciting world of digital animation ! Using simple animation software, they learned how to bring their ideas and stories to life, one frame at a time. The children began by designing their own characters and backgrounds, then experimented with making small changes between each frame to create the illusion of movement. 2P started their Fire! Fire! topic today by creating fire pictures. This half term they will be learning all about the Great Fire of London, reading and writing fire poems and writing stories in the style of Vlad and the Great Fire of London. The pictures they created were amazing!

2P have had a fabulous half term at Forest School. This week they played in our outside Forest School area, toasted marshmallows on the fire and made smores or took part in craft activities. They even caught a glimpse of 'the dragon' we have been looking for all term who was running through the bushes. Thank you to Miss Braysford for leading these sessions.
