    Iron Man in 4B

Today, we have started our new class novel 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. We have learnt a part of the first chapter using a story map. This section focuses on descriptive language and the children performed it brilliantly using actions. After that, we used the creative language to inspire us to make our own Iron Men from recyclable materials. This has definitely hooked us on our book! Take a look at the children's fantastic work. #4B #Year4 #English #Reading #Oracy #Performin

    A confusing start!

Year 2 had a confusing start to their week today. Something had happened in Class 2N and a huge mess was left. We looked at the clues and tried to piece together what we think might have happened. Our theories range from a dragon, to a dinosaur, to Big Foot and even to a Ritchisaurous! We are going to read the book that has been left and see if we can find out more. #Reading #Year2 #English

    What a find!

Annabelle found a hidden book whilst at Gulliver's World this weekend. It had been hidden by somebody called Zoey. Annabelle shared the book with us during ERIC time. She is going to hide it again for someone else to find once she has finished with it. What a great idea for all those used books you may have lying around at home. Why not wrap them up and hide them for someone else to enjoy? #Reading #English #Year2

In Year 4, we have been reading 'Demon Dentist' as our class novel. One of the characters in the book has DREADLOCKS. This became our word of the day as most of us had never heard of them before. Kindly, Mrs Laycock paid 4B a visit this morning to show us her real life DREADLOCKS. She even let us feel them. #Reading #English #Year4

It's easy to win a certificate and badge by reading just 6 books between 1st July and 30th September. What a great way to help pass the long summer holiday!
