In today’s computing lesson, we brought history to life by animating The Great Fire of London . The children created animations showing how the fire started in a bakery and spread through the city. It was a fun way to combine computing skills like sequencing and storytelling with learning about history. Seeing their animations unfold helped everyone understand the speed and impact of the fire—making history both visual and memorable!

6J have been working hard to design, paint and print their own wallpaper in the style of William Morris. They then used technology to help recreate repeating patterns using their designs.

This week we learned about Remembrance Day, created our own leaf men using natural resources linked to our key text, and loved exploring our new Reception outdoor equipment. It’s been another wonderful week full of laughter and smiles in Reception! 🌹🍂🌟

4F were learning how to peel, chop, slice and dice in our D.T lesson this afternoon.

4F had a great afternoon with Fatima from BWDBC learning all about recycling and how we can help to look after our planet.

We have been learning about the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees. We looked at different leaves and described them.

Our new books from Lancashire Library systems have now been added to our system. The children have selected some great books which I'm sure everyone will enjoy.

There was so much excitement today as our children got to visit the Lancashire School Library Bus! They loved choosing and exchanging their books — it’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm for reading grow with every visit. A huge thank you to the Library Bus team for bringing such joy (and so many great stories!) to our school.

Year 4 had a great first dance session with Blackburn Rovers!

This week we have been super busy! We enjoyed lots of exciting Bonfire/firework-themed activities in our provision, had a visit from one of our wonderful parents who taught us how to prepare food safely, and explored different representations of the number 5. We’re looking forward to another fantastic week ahead. Have a wonderful weekend, everybody!

4F had a great time tasting existing products that are available to put in a sandwich. This will help us to choose what we want to put in our sandwiches that we are going to make.

Some of the children from Year 3 and 4 enjoyed their first session at archery club. They learnt how to hold the bow and load the arrow. We even had some super hits on target!

This week in Computing, our Year 2 children have been exploring the exciting world of digital animation ! Using simple animation software, they learned how to bring their ideas and stories to life, one frame at a time. The children began by designing their own characters and backgrounds, then experimented with making small changes between each frame to create the illusion of movement. They were amazed to see their drawings come alive on screen — whether it was a rocket blasti

2P started their Fire! Fire! topic today by creating fire pictures. This half term they will be learning all about the Great Fire of London, reading and writing fire poems and writing stories in the style of Vlad and the Great Fire of London. The pictures they created were amazing!
