2P started their Fire! Fire! topic today by creating fire pictures. This half term they will be learning all about the Great Fire of London, reading and writing fire poems and writing stories in the style of Vlad and the Great Fire of London. The pictures they created were amazing!

We have enjoyed learning all about the artist Ruth Fitton. We have learnt all about painting portraits and mixing colours.

Year 1 children have enjoyed using the computers to explore the different art programs on Purple Mash. They enjoyed creating some Autumn Leaf designs and using the different tools to make some fantastic designs.

1S have been super busy over the past couple of weeks. They have been creating their own sense poems, working on their dribbling and skipping skills, been sense detectives to solve a science problem and experimented with mixing paints to create their own portraits.

Well done to those children who have achieved 5 reads every week this term!

2P have had a fabulous half term at Forest School. This week they played in our outside Forest School area, toasted marshmallows on the fire and made smores or took part in craft activities. They even caught a glimpse of 'the dragon' we have been looking for all term who was running through the bushes. Thank you to Miss Braysford for leading these sessions.

6J have enjoyed creating their own William Morris inspired repeating patterns using tracing paper.

3B had a great afternoon making their own paint out of flour, water and spices and using it to make some Stone Age cave art work!

Breakfast club have enjoyed making woolen ghosts and pumpkins in the craft area today.

This week, we followed the instructions to trap a dragon. Kobe even brought in some meat and we saw the dragon. Do not worry - he is friendly!

This week in Reception, we have been reading Pumpkin Soup. We linked the story to our literacy learning and our topic on Harvest. The children helped make real pumpkin soup by slicing, scooping, and chopping the ingredients. Mrs Martin then blended the soup, and we all had a taste today – it was souperlicious!
